Last weekend Marq & I both took some time off work to get a good start on our backyard projects. We rented a skidsteer one day and Marq spent the day ripping up grass, filling in our trampoline pit and leveling the yard. "Thank you" to our friends Ryan, Brandon and Taylor who stopped by to help us out. You guys are great!

On Saturday Marq's AWESOME brother-in-law John came up all the way from St. George to help us install the sprinkling system. Having John here to help was PRICELESS since he is the expert on these things.

Marq's whole family showed up on Saturday to help out wherever they could.

THANKS GUYS!!! We can't wait to have you all over for a BBQ when it's all finished!

Tornado Marq hit our house!

Last weekend was Demolition at our house! We ripped down the covered patio in back of our house to make room for our new fabulous backyard. SCARY! but EXCITING!!!



The old covered patio was only about 6 feet deep so it didn't give us much shade & it was hideous.

St. George

We spent last weekend in St. George with Marq's family for some fun & sunshine. I agree.. it's STRANGE that we drive 3 hours to St. George on Friday and then drive 45 minutes to find snow for skiing! Then that night Marq drove an hour and a half with his sisters and their husbands back up to Brian Head for some night snowboarding. What can I say? We love winter sports! Marq had never been snowboarding with Emily so it was really nice for him to get to hang out with both his sisters. He had fun!
While we were down there our cute nephew Cutler celebrated his first birthday. We were so happy to get to go to his party.

I got to help babysit Cutler while Marq & the girls went snowboarding. I was happy to spend some time with him since we don't get to see him as often as we would like and kids grow up SO fast!
He is SO CUTE!!! Happy Birthday little man!

Rascal Flatts!

Last Thursday Tahna surprised me with my birthday gift... TICKETS TO THE RASCAL FLATTS CONCERT! I KNOW!!! She is the BEST! Tahna & I share a love for country music but as fate would have it... our significant others DO NOT which works out great for all of us :)
We went to the concert wearing our famous, matching, sandune Hurley cowboy hats. It was like old times again! You can tell from the picture that those hats have been through a LOT of good times with us :)
The concert was awesome & we had GREAT seats!
Jessica Simpson opened and I actually really like some of her new country songs.

They say it's your birthday... nah, nah, nah, nah,nah, nah!

Last weekend was my birthday, yeah! We had cake and ice cream the week before with my family.
We started the day off cross-country skiing up Millcreek Canyon with Marq's parents, their dog and his brother Chris.The trail Marq & I chose was pretty steep which was scary & icy to come down. We all took a few spills (which makes me feel better :) but we had a great time and I know that Chris & I were sore the next day :)
