Go Green!

*REDUCE*REUSE*RECYCLE*

I finally found reusable grocery bags at my grocery store! I ALWAYS ask for them and they are ALWAYS sold out! This week I got 3! They were only $1 a piece at Harmon's AND you get a 5-cent "bag rebate" every time you use them. Eventually they'll pay for themselves, conserve oil, minimize landfill waste and pollution, and help preserve our environment.

Here's a great REUSE tip...
For the plastic grocery bags you've already got laying around... REUSE! You can use them to cover shoes when traveling or as doggy poop bags :) Many trails have a baggy dispenser, take your extras and donate them for other dog owners to reuse.

"Tahna & Lynzie" 5 Years!

BEST FRIENDS

"Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity."
Kahlil Gibran

Tahna & I met 5 years ago when we began working together at an insurance agency in Orem. We became friends, started hanging out and in no time at all... we were inseparable. People used to say we have our "own language," a code that no one else can crack.

Over the years we have been through some very good times together. We have also seen our share of hard times, but we've been by each other's side through it all. We've had LOTS of laughs and lots of tears, both happy and sad. We've seen each other through breakups, deaths, family crisis, losing loved ones, weddings, funerals, moving, losing pets, adopting pets, new jobs and the list goes on. We've been through boyfriends, girlfriends, weight loss, weight gain, tax seasons, snowboard seasons, winters, and summers.

Tahna was with me the night I met Marq, she practically hand-picked him for me :) She was there on our first date and she stood by my side as we took our vows. She is the BEST FRIEND I have ever know. She knows me better than anyone ever has but loves me anyway. She's been my best friend, my sister, my shoulder to cry on, my maid of honor, my encouragement, my colleague, my voice of reason, my partner in crime, the devil AND angel on my shoulders and an example to me. The past 5 years have been the BEST years of my life! We have made memories that will last a lifetime and we will continue to make many, many more.

I LOVE YOU BABY!!! Here's to us... Best Friends Forever!

Green Living

Marq and I have made a new goal to reduce our carbon footprints and conserve our earth. It is amazing all the little things you can do everyday to start making a difference. So... I have started a new feature on our Blog called "Green Living Tip of the Week". I will be updating it frequently with easy, inexpensive, environmentally friendly tips for conservation. Feel free to send me ideas or suggestions so that I can share them with everyone! Thanks!!!

Happy Anniversary

Marriage
by Kahlil Gibran

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together.
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

Sunday night we had a wonderful, romantic dinner at Log Haven which is up Millcreek Canyon. The food was AMAZING, the scenery was beautiful and it was even warm enough for us to dine on the patio. We highly recommend Log Haven, especially if you love seafood like we do :) What a great anniversary!

Sunday was our 2-year anniversary. Already? I KNOW! Looking back, so much has happened in the past 2 years and we have both learned SO much. Marq & I are hoping to buy our first home this summer and we're really excited to enter this new chapter in our lives together.

We spent the afternoon at Red Butte Gardens. It was a HOT day just like our wedding day two years ago. The beautiful gardens gave us lots of new ideas for our new yard :)

Day 4

On our last day in Moab we went for a hike with Denice, Malina (Marq's Aunt and cousin) & their dog Odus. We found a trail with the coolest waterfall & swimming hole at the top. We had fun and it was really nice to cool off and play in the water.

WE LOVE MOAB!

We LOVE Malina!

Dog Tired

After the 3 hour car ride on Saturday, the 5 mile hike Saturday afternoon and then the 10 mile bike ride on Sunday (which she ran the entire way) Chevy was DONE! She turned out to be a great little runner and had a big smile on her face most of the time.

When we came back to camp she plopped down on our bed while we fixed dinner and refused to leave the tent! I think she is afraid of what we will make her do next! She's a little trooper and a very tired, dirty little dog! Just the way we like her... Happy Girl!

Day 02-Bartlett Wash Bike Ride

We were actually trying to find the Tusher Canyon Bike Trail but the trails weren't clearly marked. We ended up on a VERY LONG stretch of soft sand which is NOT fun to ride in! We finally made it to the Bartlett Wash trail which wasn't too bad. As you can see from the photos I was still smiling which is HUGE for me!!!

Day 01 - Negro Bills Canyon Hike

Chevy got to try out her new backback she got for Christmas and she seemed to like it :)

CONGRATULATIONS!

Well... HE DID IT!!! Marq is now officially a college graduate :) Yeah!!!

Friday was such a fun day :) We went to the Commencement Ceremony in the morning, had a BBQ with the family, and then went to the College of Engineering Convocation Ceremony in the afternoon. It was a great day! Thank you to all of you who took the time to come up and support Marq and all his long years of hard work. A special thanks to Marq's two sisters who traveled all the way from St. George for the occasion. We really appreciate everyone's support, it made the day that much more special. Thanks to everyone who helped us get here.
