"No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you're the only one that knows what my heart sounds like from the inside."

I adore this quote. I want to frame it and hang it in his room or stitch it on a pillow :)

Where does the time go???
Ledger is now 8 months old.
His new favorite foods are... biter biscuits and cereal puffs.
His favorite toy is... his Mickey Mouse my sister brought back from Disneyland.
His newest trick is...finding things he isn't supposed to play with, loves chords just like his dad.
He has... 2 teeth but has been working hard lately on the top two.
He is mostly wearing... 3-6 size clothes but still fits in some of his 0-3 stuff.
He is still wearing... Size 2 diapers.
He likes to...be chased, thinks it's so funny. He is also very ticklish.
He does not like...to get his diaper changed or get dressed.
He has started...a little fake cough/laugh.
He loves...watching the dogs play and loves it when they sing to him.
He likes... bath time and vitamins.
He eats... 7 oz of solid food for breakfast, usually 3.5 oz and lunch and 7 oz for dinner.
He drinks... 6 oz three times a day and 8 oz before bedtime.
He usually...takes two 2-hour naps if I'm lucky.
He is sleeping... through the night most of the time.
He had... another cold last month (we both did) and he is still trying to kick the runny nose.
He loves...playing and exploring.
He loves...the picture of himself I just framed and put in his room, he smiles at it all the time.
He hates...having his nose wiped or sucked out.
He is still...scooting on his belly but getting really fast.

His personality is coming out more & more each day. He thinks he's really funny when he crawls away from you or gets into something he knows he's not supposed to. Sometimes I'll come in to check on him and he is just sitting quietly examining his toys, sometimes he is stuck somewhere he can't get out of. Yesterday I heard him laughing and when I came in he was sitting on the floor just laughing at Chevy (who was up on the couch where she knew he couldn't reach her). Later I came back to check on him and when he wasn't in the family room I walked in the kitchen to find him laying next to the dog door with one hand out! Great!!!

I am very grateful for Ledger. I am so thankful that he is happy & healthy and I lucky to have a full-time, front-row seat to his childhood :) I love you little man!!!

My Pack

Can I just say how much I love these kids?Chevy has been so patient and loving towards Ledger since the day we brought him home. I think she loves him and knows it is her job to watch out for him.
She is very gentle with him and is sweet to let him pet her and pull on her ears. She follows him around, lays by my feet when I rock him to sleep and howls when he cries.
Koda loves his brother too but he is more cautious when it comes to being touched. What a good lookin' pack!!!

Buddies

Marq's cousin Zeke really seemed to enjoy having Ledger around. He liked to play with him and make him laugh.Ledger thought he was funny and loved the attention.
Zeke even sent home some of his old toys for Ledger.
It is crazy to me that Zeke was about this age when I met him! He was only 2 the first time Marq and I visited Hood River. We love you Zeke!

Washington

Friday we headed North for some camping in Washington. We camped with a bunch of Denice & Chico's friends at an amazing campground. It was gorgeous! There were huge trees everywhere, moss, fern, amazing waterfalls and rivers.
This trail was right at the edge of our campground.
Gorgeous falls not far from camp.
Marq got to go on an awesome bike ride with Chico and a bunch of the guys. Ledger and I hung out and camp during the day.
Fabulous weekend of camping!!!

Lewis River

Camping

You can see by these photos one of the reasons Marq & I love the area so much, it's gorgeous! When we first visited Denice & Chico 6 years ago we fell in love... in love with the area, the laid back way of life and each other. We decided on that trip that some day we would be married and live here.
Someday we will raise Ledger among the beauty of these mountains & rivers. We'll bring Chevy & Koda back to smell the smells of the forest.

Kim, Cutler & Kapri

Today Kim and her kids came out to Hood River to play and spend the night.Cutler is so funny, loves making faces.
Cute Kapri wanted to hang out under the tree in the pinecones.
We hung out at Denice's house and played most of the afternoon.

Malina loves her chickens, this is Peeps.
We were so happy to see Kim & the kids. We all miss them so much and it was great to get to spend some time with them. The kids are growing up fast, Marq & I look forward to living near them soon!!!

Rasmussen Farms

Today we took Ledger to see Rasmussen Farms. This is a beautiful farm up here on the Fruit Loop. They have awesome fruit, yummy fruit products and beautiful flowers.
Marq and I came here on our first visit six years ago before I was a Rasmussen and we try to stop by every time we're in town.

Beautiful flowers from the U-pick garden.

Under the Weather

Ledger & I are both a little under the weather today. As you can see from the photos, Ledger is not quite himself. He had just woke up and his hair naturally does that mohawk thing on it's own.

Around Town

Today Marq and I took Ledger out to see a few things around town.
We went to a tasting at the Pheasant Valley winery and checked out the vineyard.

Ledger is getting so strong, he is moving all over the place. He loves to watch Denice's cats and I think they are curious about him as well. Iris & Zoey are the first cats he has ever met close up.

Mt. Adams Hike

Today we packed up the big van and drove North for a hike on Mt. Adams in Washington. Denice and I rode in the back with the kids which turned out to be brutally bumpy. The hike was beautiful, so green and the wildflowers were gorgeous. Ledger stayed awake for the whole thing, he loves being out in the fresh air.
Denice & Malina hiking up.Otis takin a break to enjoy the view.
