There is nothing like the colors of the tulip fields in the spring.
Every year the varieties are arranged differently in a new pattern of color as they rotate the tulip fields to a new location.
Even Chevy got to come smell the flowers with us :)
Aunt Kimmie gave Ledger a photography lesson:)
They had a fun bounce house for the kids.
We rode the cow train.
We saw tons & tons of beautiful flowers!
We had lunch with our friends!

I think it's fair to say that I have the cutest baking assistant in the world :)
I've been meaning to try this new cookie recipe for months and since I finally replaced the mixer we burned out making mashed potatoes, I figured today was my chance.
Ledger loved standing on the stool, measuring, whisking and stirring.
Everytime I moved he picked up the stool and followed me.
Once I convinced him to stop spooning the ingredients into the sink we were in business.
The dough is yummy, hopefully the cookies will be too.
I remember asking to use them over and over but I was always told "Not today, they are too messy."
After awhile I stopped asking and gave up :( The fingerpaints eventually dried up and I never got to use them so I have been looking forward to fingerpainting with my own child for years and today was the big day!
I grabbed some WASHABLE fingerpaints last time I was out and rolled out the paper today :)
We had lots of fun and kept the mess contained.
I am so grateful that I can stay home full time with Ledger and for all the focused one on one time I am able to give him.
We did a little shopping, had lunch and the kids played in the fountain. It was lots of fun until Ledger fell in and got soaked.
We walked up the river, saw the boats and bridges, and enjoyed the beautiful weather and blossoms.
Such a gorgeous day!
Nick's kids were tired from all the walking so he had to carry them both to the car.
They seemed well rested when we got to the ice cream shop though :)
This ice cream shop makes all their own ice cream, waffle cones and caramel!
We all really enjoyed our ice cream. Nick & Marq tried out the coffee & bourbon and Noelle & I had the salted caramel. Delicious!
We hit a cute toy story before heading home. I think we all had a great day.
As always he came home with pockets full of rocks and gravel. This kid loves rocks.
