Hood River Trip - Day 5

On Tuesday we packed up the kids and headed to Portland. Marq's sister Kim and her family were in town so we played in the park with them, had lunch and did some shopping. Zeke
Malina

On the way home we stopped at the Cascade Locks to say hello to Herman the sturgeon.

Hood River Trip - Day 4

On Monday Marq & I spent the first part of the day with our buddy Zeke. We went for a bike ride to a small town called Mosier about 10 miles up the river. It was a really cool trail that followed the river and went through some awesome tunnels.
Then Marq & I spent the day hanging out in town, doing some shopping and enjoying the scenery. We visited this beautiful vineyard called Cathedral Ridge and then met Denise & the kids at a local brew pub for dinner. Double Mountain has great pizza and then we hit the beach for some fresh air.
WE LOVE IT HERE!!!

Hood River Trip - Day 3

On Sunday Marq & Chico headed over to Post Canyon for some biking while Denise & I hung out with the kids & doggers.
A few hours later Chico returned my husband a little banged up! He landed sideways and slid out in the gravel. I was thankful there were no major injuries, just some road rash. Needless to say I was glad I stayed home!OUCH!!!

Hood River Trip - Day 2

This morning we went to the 4th of July parade in Hood River. The kids had lots of fun and got LOTS of candy. It was a hot day!

Later Denise, Zeke, Marq & I went to the WAAM museum which is antique aircraft & cars. Some of the old war planes flew overhead during the day which was fun.

In the evening we all headed down to the event site on the river for BBQ and fireworks. Happy 4th of July everyone!

Hood River Trip - Day 1

Marq, Chevy, Koda & I made it to Hood River about 4am Friday morning. The drive was long but not bad at all. We were able to squeeze in a couple hours of sleep before the dogs woke us up and then we spent the morning hanging out at the house. We couldn't believe how much the kids of grown since we saw them a year ago! That afternoon we all hiked Tamanawana Falls. Marq and I have done this hike 3 times now. The first time as a dating couple, the second as newlyweds with one puppy and now a married couple with two dogs.
Hiking with my kids.

It was also Koda's very first hike... lots of steps for those tiny legs! The little trooper made it all the way up to the waterfall (approx. 2 miles) and part of the way back down before we put him in the pack.

"This is a long hike! Can you carry me please?" Marq, Denise, Zeke, Odis & Chevy hiked in behind the waterfall while Chico & I stayed back with Malina & Koda. The Rasmussens
Malina and "her Chico".
