9 Months Old... ALREADY?!?!

Ledger is now 9 months old. Doesn't it seem like I JUST did his 8 Month post???

Ledger is...determined and strong.
His new favorite foods are... cinnamon puffs and whatever we are eating.
His favorite toy is... he's not really into toys, he'd rather be moving or standing.
His newest trick is...pulling himself up to standing.
He says...Mama & BawBaw when he is mad and Dada ALL the time but I can't decide if he knows what they mean yet.
He has... 4 teeth and looks like he's working on about 4 more.
He is wearing... some 3-6 and some 6-9 size clothes.
He likes to... stand up and walk or run with help.
He has started...scrunching up his nose and sniffling.
He loves...screaming while the dogs sing.
He likes...snack-time in his highchair.
He drinks... 6 oz three times a day and 8 oz before bedtime.
He usually...takes a decent morning nap (usually about an hour and a half) and one shorter afternoon nap (usually about an hour). Sometimes he'll take a nap in the late afternoon too depending on the day.
He is sleeping... crappy! Lately he's up several times a night.
He loves...pictures of himself.
He hates...it when you move him away from something he wants or when you don't shovel the food into his mouth fast enough.
He is...starting to crawl on his knees sometimes and he can also sit down from a standing position really well.

Ledger is changing so much everyday! He wants to stand up, wants to walk and sometimes he tries to take off like he can just go. He seems to have no fear and he'd dive off the couch or changing table, head first, if I'd let him. He has been so unpredictable lately... sleeping in, fevers, diaper rash, taking long naps, etc. I hope the teething gets easier soon so that he can feel better. It breaks my heart when he is sad. Generally he is a funny, happy boy. He makes us smile & laugh everyday and we all love having him as part of our family.

Halloween Party

Tonight Marq's mom threw a really fun Halloween party. We all dressed up, had dinner, played games and had a great time. Ledger was a monkey for his first Halloween. Isn't he adorable?
I dressed up as a witch and Marq was Iron Man.

Witchfest

Today we met Tahna and her family at Gardner Village for Witchfest.I wanted Ledger to see the pumpkins and witches but mostly it was just nice to be out in the warm Fall air.
Tahna & I never get our picture taken together anymore so this time we made sure to get a shot!Two of my very favorite boys!

Teeth hurt!

Ledger is pretty miserable lately, it looks like he's got about 4 teeth trying to come in. He's had a fever, diaper rash, sleep disturbances and he is cranky and uncomfortable. Poor guy... I hope these teeth show up soon!

Babies' best friend

Ledge has been so miserable lately, I've been trying to entertain him and make him happy.This is what the doggies and I came up with :)
Chevy is such a good sport. She lets him pet her, grab her fur, yank on her ears... she's a GOOD big sister.
Ledger thought it was so funny when I put the rings on the dogs heads! I was just glad to see him happy :)
Koda is learning patience. He has always been weird about people touching his paws but he's trying so hard to let Ledger pet him.

Look at Me!

A couple of weeks ago Ledger figured out how to pull himself up in his crib. He loves it!When he wakes up in the morning or after a nap he'll just stand there and babble or bounce.
He is so proud of his new skill. When he gets up he squeals as if to say "Look at me! I did it!!!"
I love to watch him figure things out and it makes me happy to see him so proud of his accomplishments.
Such a happy boy :)

Getaway

This weekend we escaped to St. George to stay with Marq's parents in their St. George home. After a long, difficult week it was SO nice to enjoy some warm weather, the pool and the beautiful Southern Utah desert. Bob & Kae even babysat all three of our kids while Marq and I went to a movie. Chevy & Koda are actually a big help when Ledger is upset, they sing to him and it usually calms him down. Thanks for a much needed break this weekend. We love you guys!

Firepit

Check out the awesome firepit Marq built us in our backyard. We love it!We had the pavers laying around the yard and wanted to reuse them somewhere. It turned out better than I had hoped. Isn't my husband handy?

Slow Moving... his tooth NOT him!

Ledger's second top tooth is finally in. It cut through quite awhile ago but just the corner of it, he's been fussy and it's been a little swollen but it's finally in! Hopefully he'll get a little break from the teething before the next one.

Mormon Pioneer Trail

After breakfast we like to hike the old Mormon Pioneer & Pony Express Trail, it's not too long of a hike but the leaves are beautiful and the history of the area is kind of fun. This was Ledger's first hike in the Kelty pack and he really seemed to like it up there :)
The dogs are always happy to hike!!!
It was a gorgeous fall day, so warm with a little breeze. Ledger loves to be outdoors. He is silent when we hike, just taking it all in. He tried so hard to stay awake but near the top of the trail he could not force his little eyes to stay open any longer.
I'm sure he enjoyed a nice nap in the warm sunshine while being packed out, I know I would have :)

Annual Fall Mountain Breakfast

A couple years ago Marq woke me up one Fall morning and said he had a surprise but wouldn't tell me where we were going. As I am not a morning person I'm sure I was less than excited but we got dressed and headed up Parley's Canyon. The leaves where beautiful shades of orange, yellow and red and when we stopped we were at a campground. Marq began unloading the trunk which contained our campstove and everything we needed for a wonderful mountain breakfast. I know... I'm married to the most amazing husband :)This is one of my favorite photos of Ledger and his dad!
This breakfast in the mountains has become one of our traditions, we did it again last year with some friends (when I was 6 months pregnant) and we really wanted to take Ledger this year.
The morning was a little chilly but it warmed up as soon as the sun made it up over the mountain.
Breakfast was awesome and the dogs loved exploring.

Trucks

This afternoon I took Ledger over to see Grandpa Rick at work and see the big Army trucks.My nephew Noah came with us and Ledger loves doing anything Noah does.he wasn't quite sure what to think but he likes grabbing anything he thinks he's not supposed to have.

Choosing your first Halloween costume is so hard! They are all so cute!!!

Can you get any closer?

Ledger loves to watch Baby Einstein movies. We have several DVD's and I try to let him watch one a day.I put him on a blanket but he always ends up right up against the TV, why is that?

Changed my Mind

Originally we didn't plan on buying a highchair, our house is small and overtaken with baby stuff already.A couple of weeks ago Ledger mastered the skill of getting his snacks into his mouth by himself. Although the Bumbo was nice for feeding him, it wasn't very practical for him to feed himself and I couldn't leave his side while he was in it. Ledger seems to like his new chair and new freedom that it gives us both.
It's nice to put him in there with some snacks and let him hang out with me while I unload the dishwasher or make dinner.

Best Friends

I will admit these pictures make me teary-eyed. We watched Chevy take Koda under her wing as a puppy and knew that someday she would do the same with our baby. She loves him and I know she will watch out for him.I LOVE watching him study Chevy & Koda, learn how to interact with them and discover a love for animals.

Oktoberfest 2011

Today we met Nick, Noelle, Brigham & Sophia at Oktoberfest for some German fun!
The kids loved playing on the bounce-around and the adults enjoyed some bratwurst.
The folk music was great and the kids liked the Yo-Yo man. Thanks for coming up for the festival guys, we had a great time! Let's do it again next year :)

Oooh

Ledger loves the vacuum. He thinks it is more interesting than any of his toys, he stares and smiles at me when I vacuum everyday. The dogs do not share his love, they are scared of it and it seems to make them nervous when Ledger gets near it.Hopefully someday he will vacuum for me :)

First Top Tooth

Ledger's top left tooth popped in today. I was glad to see it since he has been pretty fussy lately and his little gums were so swollen. It looks like the other tooth should be in soon too.
