4 Month Checkup
Today was Ledger's 4 Month Checkup, he is now 17 weeks old.

Let's Get Away
For Memorial Day weekend Bob & Kae invited us to stay with them in their St. George home. We were all ready for a getaway!!! We actually spent last Memorial Day with Bob & Kae in St. George just a few days before we found out that I was pregnant!
We hung out at the pool and Ledger got to spend some time with Grandma & Grandpa :)
On Sunday Kae took us for one of her famous "Sunday walks" which turned out (as they always do) to be more like an actual hike.
Luckily now that I have been a Rasmussen for over 5 years, I've come to know & love Kae and her "walks".
It was 4 miles long and consisted of a total of 94 stream crossings :) I will say the stream crossings were a bit of a surprise! 
This is my initial over-reaction. "You've GOT to be kidding me!"
The first few were a little scary for me with the baby but with a lot of assistance from Bob & Marq I got used to it.
Ledger was a trooper! He looked around for the first half of the hike and then he slept until we got to the top where I fed him.
Another stream crossing...
Once I got comfortable with the baby carrier and the constant stream crossings I was able to look up and enjoy the scenery.
It really was a beautiful hike.

Playtime
Ledger started putting weight on his skinny little legs awhile ago so I borrowed this exersaucer from my sister-in-law and he loves kicking the bottom. 
It took him awhile to get interested in the toys but now he sits and talks to them like little friends.
He has such a fun personality, it's so fun to watch him change each day!

4 Months Old
I cannot believe that Ledger is 4 months old! Where does the time go? He is a really happy baby most of the time, he doesn't really fuss much unless he needs something or has a belly ache. He is holding his head up all the way and has rolled over a few times. He talks a lot and laughs out loud. He gets giggly at night and loves to be naked :) He is drooling a lot and he can hold some of his toys now. He likes to suck on his fingers and put everything in his mouth.
He loves music! I put some of his favorite songs on the blog, he loves it when I dance with him and he is so happy when I sing him songs. He loves to play with Marq, he can usually get him laughing but he is also content to play by himself. He likes to ride in the Bjorn pack, loves his strollers and is good in his carseat too.
He usually wakes up around 7 a.m. and we like to sing songs and play in the morning or watch his mobile for a little while. He usually takes a good morning nap until about 10 or 11 a.m. He is such a good napper, I swaddle him, give him his binky and he puts himself to sleep.
In the afternoon Ledger likes to play with his toys, do some tummy time, he loves the exersaucer and his Baby Einstein playmat. He usually takes a good afternoon nap until about 2 or 3 p.m. 
In the late afternoon we usually play for awhile and then he likes to watch a Baby Einstein movie in the afternoon. He loves them! He sits in his bouncer and doesn't take his eyes off the screen although he has started talking back to the TV when he gets excited. He loves bath time and loves to take the doggers for an evening walk. He goes to bed around 8pm and usually sleeps until about 4am. 
He is developing a lot of personality and it is so fun to watch him discover the world a little bit at a time. I love him very much and although it's sad to know he won't always be my little baby, it is also exciting to see him learn and grow.

First time for Squash
I think this week Ledger is having a growth spurt. He seems hungry all the time so we decided to give some solid food a try. 
He seemed interested.

Picnic
Friday was such a beautiful day I decided to pack a picnic and go meet Marq for lunch at the park near his office.
We had lunch and went for a walk, Ledger was clearly very excited about it.

Happy Mothers Day
What a wonderful first Mother's Day. Although I've been celebrating Mother's Day with Chevy for the past 5 years and then Koda, this year was special. Marq made me breakfast in bed and was extra helpful with Ledger so that I could sleep in a bit. I asked Marq not to get me anything for Mother's Day (although he got me flowers anyway). I feel so lucky to be a mom and Ledger is all the gift I need this year. I'll admit it has been tough at times but it has also been more amazing and rewarding than I ever dreamed. He is the sweetest baby and I love him more than anything. I am so grateful for a healthy, happy baby and for the privilege of being his mom.
Happy Mother's Day to my mother, to all the amazing women in my life who have helped nurture me and to those who have been an example to me of how be a wonderful mother. I hope I can be the wonderful mom my sweet, precious boy deserves.

Dallas to Albuquerque to Denver to SLC
Much to my relief, Ledger turned out to be a great little traveler.
Everyone loved him and told us how cute he was and what a good baby :)
I found him this cute toy in the airport gift shop, we call him Toby the Texas Longhorn.
Ledger loved traveling with Grandma Lana. She talked to him, held him and was a big help. Grandma even asked the flight attendants for his wings and he got a certificate of his first flight, signed by the flight crew.
We had a great trip but we were glad to be home.
