Peach Pie Time
Last year we kind of missed peach season but not this year! Thanks to my Grandma Marjean, I make a mean peach pie and we've been waiting all year for fresh peaches.
The peaches weren't quite as ripe as I would have liked but the crust turned out beautiful.
My filling was perfect, not runny at all.
Marq whipped up a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream to go with it and we were in heaven.Tonight our new bed frame was finally delivered... at midnight! Happy Anniversary to us.
Saturday
Saturday morning we headed out for a bike ride. There is a nice paved trail in Newberg that we've been meaning to check out.
Ledger did great and the path was perfect with a few ups and downs for him to maneuver.Ledger LOVES riding his bike with his dad.
I am in denial that summer is coming to an end. I'm like a pathetic girlfriend, on my knees, crying and begging it not to leave me!!!

Tie Dye Tuesday
When I heard that the Children's Museum was having Tie Dye Tuesday this week I jumped on it! I thought it was a perfect color activity for us :)We dyed Ledger's shirt red & yellow in honor of RED week at our house.
We were happy Kim and her cute kids could join us and they all created some super cute tie dyes.
Yay for bringing more color into our lives :)

RED Week
With everyone going back to school lately I was feeling a little left out. Don't get me wrong, I am in no hurry to send my little guy off to school! The tears, the nerves... no thank you. I am however, looking forward to school clothes shopping and Hello!... back to school supplies! So... I decided to start our own little curriculum here at our house. We are starting with colors. This week we are focusing on the color RED. We've had red snacks, played with red toys, done scavenger hunts for red and even gotten some red treats. In closing I'd just like to say... "GO UTES"!

Stand Up Paddleboarding
My sister-in-law Kim lives near the beautiful Scappoose Bay just off the Columbia River. She loves to paddleboard on the river and I've been wanting to try it for a long time. I figured having Madi in town was the perfect excuse for a day on the river. Unfortunately we couldn't take our cameras or phones so these are our only photos of the adventure. I guess what happens on the river stays on the river :)
We left the kids with a babysitter and had a great time paddling on the river for a couple hours.
Madi was really nervous to stand up on the board at first but she got the hang of it. Fun day! I love trying new things and I'm proud of Madi for facing her fears and kicking butt :)

Farm Stand
Today we took Madi to one of our favorite farm stands.
They had lots of yummy fruit! Madi loved the cute farm "shopping baskets" and she and Ledger shared some honey sticks.
Ledger wanted to take the berries out of the flats and eat them or put them in his basket.
We got some yummy, fresh corn for dinner, a couple white peaches and a big nectarine.
Look at these gorgeous lemons! I think they're the most perfect, bright lemons I've ever seen.

We love Oregon living!!!

Madi's Here!
My niece Madilyn flew in today to spend a week with us! We are so excited :)
Ledger has been telling everyone we see that "Madi is coming!"
He was a little shy but he went right to her :)
We decided to take Madi out to the Columbia Gorge to show her some of the beauty around us.
The Gorge is one of our favorite spots and it was a gorgeous, sunny day.
We went to the fish hatchery to visit Herman the sturgeon.
Next we headed out for some beach time in Hood River.
Hood River is one of our absolute favorite places in the WORLD so we love taking people there!
Ledger had so much fun playing in the sand and the river with someone new :)
As usual Ledger ended up with sand everywhere.
Fun, fun day.
