First we went to the elephant exhibit to see the trainers presentation. We got to see them work with Christie and her cute baby Zuri. They explained how they interact with the elephants and care for them.
Did you know that elephants throw grass and mud up on their backs to protect their skin from the sun? It's like sunscreen.
Then we headed down to meet the giraffes, I'm pretty sure Ledger is related to them somehow ;)
What's a trip to the zoo without a carousel ride? Ledger was interested when the ride started to move but then he just wanted to eat the gross pole. Don't worry, I didn't let him! We also rode the train but I didn't get a good picture of that.

Ummmm, why didn't you tell me you were going to the zoo??? You told me you would tell me so I could come with you! :*( sad face
Sorry! It was kind of questionable until the last minute due to the crazy weather. We'll go again soon.
